Kudumbashree strongly believes that capacity of each and every individual can be improved if they are properly trained. Rather than entrusting the training programmes to any training institutes, Kudumbashree developed an in-house faculty team and conducted a series of training along the length and breadth of Kerala by using the facilities of already existing training institutes. Training curriculum was developed with the help of experts and Kudumbashree faculty. Three training modules were prepared of which the third one is exclusively covering the functional areas of micro enterprise management. Topics covered so far:

Special Training

Performance Improvement Programme by EDII

In order to provide handholding and escort service to the newly established DWCUA units, a Performance Improvement Programme (PIP) was conducted in collaboration with EDII. 10 PIP programmes were conducted. This was done with the help of Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India (EDII), Ahmedabad. Under this programme 1170 entrepreneurs from 141 units were imparted training in Business Development

Sensitization Programme for POs and COs (by EDII)

To sensitize the field level implementing officers such as POs and COs, a six day sensitization programme on Entrepreneurship Development was also conducted by EDII. 

Trainers Training Programme ( by EDII) : A fortnight long trainers’ training programme was conducted with the help of EDII, Ahmedabad for the District level functionaries of Kudumbashree.

Gender Budgeting : This programme was conducted at the State, regional and district levels with the financial support from UNICEF for elected representatives of Local Bodies and officers of line departments.

Child Rights : The programme at State, regional and district levels for sensitizing the CBOs. These programmes were also sponsored by UNICEF.

Man Catching : This special Programme was conducted by JAYCEES, Kottaym for the functionaries of Kudumbashree in personality development.

Tribal Development : This programme is conducted in collaboration with the Tribal Development Department for giving training on entrepreneurship development among the tribes. 

Community Finance Management : This programme is conducted with the support of NABARD for CBOs for improving the capacity in Finance Management & account keeping .

Community Mobilization & Social Marketing : This programme is conducted with the faculty support of management schools in Kerala . Women from 1.96 lakhs families have been mobilised in 7848 NHGs in urban areas and 17.69 lakhs families into 64475 NHGs in rural areas.

Kudumbashree News Letter : As part of IEC component, Kudumbashree has released 28 editions of monthly Newsletter with the financial support of UNICEF. For each magazine a specific topic is selected such as IT, BT, HRD, Women empowerment, Solar Energy, etc.
