Management Information System (MIS)
For
the successful implementation of any project/scheme, its
Monitoring and Evaluation is a sine qua non. A better
monitoring system can indeed improve the implementation of
any project to a very great extent. The SJSRY, a Centrally
sponsored scheme to alleviate Urban poverty is implemented
at Urban Local Body Level in the State by the Community
Based Organisations (CBOs) of poor women. Handling of data
and generation of information is very important for
implementation of this scheme.
Keeping
this in mind, Kudumbashree has developed a full-fledged
Management Information System (MIS) for SJSRY
implementation. Status of implementation of project is
collected at ULB level. An MIS format is given to Urban
Local Bodies and the required details are collected through
the District Mission Co-ordinators. At the District level,
these data are crosschecked, processed, consolidated and an
MIS report is generated, which is sent to the Head Office
through e-mail.
The
reports from the District Mission offices are received in
the Computer Division at the Head Office. The whole database
is judiciously examined again with the help of data
processing software internally developed by Kudumbashree.
The latest evolution in the IT filed is adopted from time to
time for better monitoring. After making necessary
processing, MIS reports are generated. These reports are
used for reviewing the progress of implementation of the
project in the monthly Plan Review Meetings (PRM). A monthly
progress report is being forwarded to the State Government
and a quarterly MIS report is also forwarded to the
Government of India. The latest addition to this family is Repayment
Information System (RIS).
